Student Achievements Mark Dynamic Percussion's First Anniversary
    Eric Thomas

As Dynamic Percussion celebrates it's first anniversary under new ownership this week, the region's premier destination for drums and percussion is proud to announce that two of their students have been recognized for their achievement in the world of music:

Paul Klaus, a senior at Glastonbury High School, has been selected to perform with the Connecticut Music Educators Association Eastern Regional Band. Paul will be playing mallet percussion with the Eastern Regional Band, and is distinguished by being the only mallet percussionist in the region to be selected. Paul has studied at Dynamic Percussion under Richard 'Gus' Guastamachio for seven years and is a regular contributor to "Downstairs @ Dynamic", a monthly open mic series hosted by the studio. Paul plans to continue his education and is seeking admission at several local universities including Bridgewater State University, the University of Connecticut, Clark University and Amherst College.

Kwasi Yeboah, a percussion student at East Hartford Middle School, has been selected by the Will Laramie Scholarship Fund to recieve a one-year scholarship for lessons at Dynamic Percussion. Kwasi plays both tenor saxophone and percussion in the East Hartford Middle School Concert Band and Jazz Band. The Will Laramie Scholarship Fund was established to honor the memory of Will Laramie, a local musician and educator, by supporting music education for students in the East Hartford Public School System. Will Laramie graduated from The Peabody Conservatory of Music, as did Dynamic Percussion's owners Richard 'Gus' Guastamachio and Jeff Polak. This scholarship award was made possible by the contributions of Dynamic Percussion and The Will Laramie Scholarship Fund.

Dynamic Percussion is the region's largest drum and percussion store and studio. The building is located at 185 Middle Turnpike West in Manchester, CT.
